Stand Up Comic Keith Lyle Finally Gets Shot to Perform For the Armed Forces
Comedian and "Hangover" actor fulfills dream of entertaining the troops
LAS VEGAS, NV, February 15, 2012 /AE PR News/ -- Growing up in suburban Chicago, stand up comedian Keith Lyle idolized Bob Hope. "To me, he was what show business was all about".
That led Keith to his lifelong journey of wanting to do be a comedian. Although the path took several detours, Lyle is now living that dream. "Right now, I'm around the age Bob Hope was when I stared watching him," jokes Lyle.
And soon Lyle with have another thing in common with his idol- performing for the troops. "It's something I've always wanted to do," said Lyle. "I admit that I'm way too much of a sissy to serve. But every American should do their share to defend the country. These brave men and women put their lives on the line every day. I am proud to contribute any way I can, and this is the least I can do".
Lyle's first military show is Wednesday February 15th at Loonees Comedy Corner in Colorado Springs (www.loonees.com). He'll be performing with Scott Kennedy, who has been to Iraq and Afghanistan 43 times, and Don Barnhart, winner of the prestigious Bob Hope Award for 17 consecutive years of entertaining the troops. A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit the Wounded Warriors.
Lyle is currently number 1 in votes in the Improv Comedy Club's online "Up Yours" contest (www.improvcc.com). He is also known as the condescending Blackjack dealer in the award winning blockbuster "The Hangover". Lyle is also featured in the documentary " Finding the Funny", which is now in post production.
"I was on the road when I got the call," Lyle explained. "I jumped at the opportunity. To say I'm thrilled is an understatement".
