Real Art Reveals the Ro-Bros

The team behind The Santa Claw creates a new digital/physical hybrid experience.

    DAYTON, OH, February 10, 2012 /AE PR News/ -- A battle has begun inside the offices of Real Art, and the creative agency has invited the world to choose sides and join in.

Real Art, the team that created the live/interactive game The Santa Claw, has launched a new experience that combines the physical and digital worlds. At Ro-Bros.com, users can log in, challenge friends, and use their keyboards to control one of two fighting bots. Each live battle streams in a real-time video feed on the site.

The company unveiled the Ro-Bros in January with a limited-edition fight poster and an online countdown clock. Then, they asked the public to get involved in their final phase of testing, described by Real Art president Chris Wire as, "a live robro-geddon fightin' match." Players can battle each other via the Ro-Bros through February 22, 2012.¬

Wire said that the project came out of the desire, "to build a badass fighting robot that always has your back - a Ro-Bro." Pat Murray, Art/Technology Director at Real Art, added that the Ro-Bros website was a way for the company to advance their work with machines controlled through the internet. "To allow players to fight a friend and use strategy to win, we wired both Ro-Bros to pick up online commands and attached sensors to measure the force of each impact. Those game elements make Ro-Bros an addictive experience."
