Children's book Author and Illustrator Derrick Lee Mitchell debuts "Miyah and Koala's First Day" Just in Time for the Holidays
Miyah is excited about going to the third grade and can't wait to see all of her friends and meet her new teacher Mrs. Kelly. After dropping Miyah off at school, her father receives a phone call about a pit bull puppy in need of a home.
STOCKBRIDGE, GA, December 15, 2011 /AE PR News/ -- Miyah and Koala's First Day is a heartwarming book that introduces the young reader to the love of animals; especially the pit bull. Derrick's journey to writing this book started out through his illustrations. He has been drawing images, pictures of his family members and friends since he was a little boy. He never thought that he could illustrate a book, even though his mother insisted that he do something with his talent. Derrick's heartfelt illustrations can also be found in author, Docia Smith's book, "Simply Chubby A Celebration of Life".
